Hypersonica Launches Canadian Operations Following €100m Series B Round

New Canadian entity reflects growing demand for affordable, sovereign defence capability and expanded access to hypersonic testing

Hypersonica Launches Canadian Operations Following €100m Series B Round

Hypersonica, the aerospace and defence company developing next-generation hypersonic deep precision strike systems, today announced the establishment of Hypersonica Inc., marking a significant milestone in the company's international expansion and commitment to allied defence cooperation.

The announcement follows Hypersonica's recent €100 million Series B fundraise and reflects increasing demand among NATO allies for advanced defence capabilities that can be developed, manufactured and fielded more rapidly and affordably than traditional approaches.

Canada's renewed focus on sovereign capability, defence innovation and industrial growth creates significant opportunities for collaboration between government, industry and technology leaders. Through its Canadian operations, Hypersonica will explore partnerships across industry, academia and government while advancing opportunities to contribute to Canada's growing defence and aerospace ecosystem.

A strategic priority for Hypersonica in Canada is expanding access to hypersonic flight testing. The company is exploring opportunities to establish a Canadian hypersonic test and evaluation capability that would support the rapid, iterative development of advanced systems while strengthening Canada’s position as a destination for defence innovation and allied capability development. Over time, this infrastructure could support broader collaboration between Canada and NATO partners.

Hypersonica co-founder and CEO Dr Philipp Kerth said: "Canada is placing renewed emphasis on defence innovation, industrial capability and sovereign security at a time when allies are seeking faster, more affordable ways to strengthen deterrence. Hypersonica was founded to deliver deterrence for a new era.

"We believe effective deterrence depends on sovereign capabilities that can be produced affordably, delivered at pace and sustained over the long term. We see strong alignment between that vision and Canada's ambitions for its defence and industrial base."

Hypersonica is developing a new generation of hypersonic deep precision strike systems designed around three principles: sovereignty, affordability and speed. By combining advanced engineering, rapid development cycles and modern manufacturing approaches, the company aims to provide NATO allies with access to high-performance capabilities produced at scale and affordably.

The company believes effective deterrence depends not only on technological advantage, but also on industrial capacity. As governments increasingly seek to strengthen domestic manufacturing, secure critical supply chains and accelerate capability delivery, resilient industrial ecosystems have become an essential component of national security.

Henry Tang, newly appointed Managing Director of Hypersonica Inc., said: "Canada combines world-class engineering talent, advanced manufacturing expertise, a highly innovative aerospace sector and significant potential as a location for advanced flight testing and evaluation. Our focus now is on building relationships across industry, academia and government to identify opportunities where Hypersonica can contribute to Canada's long-term defence and industrial ambitions.

"We are committed to being a long-term partner in Canada's defence innovation ecosystem and helping strengthen the sovereign capabilities and industrial capacity that underpin effective deterrence."

Hypersonica's Canadian operations will support engagement with defence, industrial and research partners while evaluating future opportunities to contribute to Canadian capability development, advanced manufacturing and technology innovation.
